Standard :
o Dog middle
size : between 57 - 62 cm for the male with around 25-35 kg
depending on the size and between 55-60 cm for the female
for a weight approximately 22 - 27kg. It is a lupoïde category
(muzzle's form like wolf ). He is muscular with wide ribs.
He is always brindle. His color is brown to black with brindles
silver to gold. White spot on hair isn't permitted. Long coats
on the neck, the tights and the tail. Dark eyes with form
like almond. His pears are right. He has black mask on all
the muzzle with a black truffle. His tail, never rollup is
curved with elegance on the top.
o His expression is intelligent
and his temperament alive. It's a rustic dog, and sport dog,
an excellent jumper.
o His training is easy,
he enjoy what he does and he looks after his owner's satisfaction.
o Attentive toward his
owner, he is gentle and affectionate, with children too. With
the other dogs he will play the dominant roll.

o Origin and Story :

At the end of the 18th century, some shepherds of different
countries had the same look as Dutch shepherd.
o At the beginning of
19th century, some breeders on the town of Maline, in Belgium
selected the actual color of Belgium Shepherd
o At the end of 19th century,
to preserved of extinction, some Holland breeders were interested
in the little shepherds with the old color who still exist.
o Mixing the two races
was common. In 1874, before Belgium and Germany, the first
Dutch Shepherd was shown on exposition. 24 years later the
Nederlandse Hershonden Club was borning.
o In 1990 by initiative
of Rudloff family, and about forty inflame person the Berger
Hollandais Club de France was created.

We can say he is a polyvalent dog. He is use by professionals
such as : army, police fireman and search and rescue in snow.
He is use as a sport dog too.
o Use as a Police dog
in his origin country, he is one of the 3 first races French
army use. French police is using some specimens too and security
professionals have special interest in this breed too.
o In France, for human
search and rescue, firemen are using for dogs for search and
rescue in crashed building. A snow rescue professional have
his own Dutch shepherd for avalanches in French Alps (French
station sky : Serre-Chevalier).
o His nose is legendary
and people want him for tracking or truffle' research.
o He is an emeritus runner
who has some adepts in France. One were selected for the championship
dog cross in 2001.
o We can remark more and
more Dutch shepherds in agility.
o In obedience some are
presented in competition too.
o Les disciplines de mordant
comme le RCI, le Mondioring et le Ring ont également quelques
